Welcome to Upper Madison College (UMC), your gateway to an unforgettable experience in Canada!

We’re thrilled to introduce our International Experience Canada (IEC) program, tailored to adventurous individuals aged 18 to 35 seeking to study and work in Canada. This unique opportunity allows you to secure a working holiday visa without the usual waiting period associated with selection from the General Pool.

UMC offers Toronto and Montreal campuses for our IEC program.

Work and Study in Canada

The International Experience Canada (IEC) program, led by the Federal Government of Canada, promotes cultural exchange between Canada and partner countries. It offers individuals aged 18 to 35 the opportunity to:

  • Gain valuable international work experience
  • Enhance language skills
  • Explore job opportunities in Canada while funding a remarkable journey

The Languages Canada (LC) Consortium provides access to the IEC Working Holiday program, allowing participants to work and travel in Canada for up to two years with an open work permit. Our package includes:

  • Minimum 12 weeks of intensive English or French language study
  • 9 workshop sessions covering resume and cover letter creation, interview preparation, navigating the application process, and effective job search strategies in Canada
  • Optional add-on services such as accommodations, health insurance, and airport pickup services

UMC IEC PACKAGE

Price: $4,680 + $1,000 (non-refundable application fee)

Includes:

  • Working Holiday Visa*
  • 12 Weeks of French** or English Study (15-20 hours per week)***
  • Job Ready Workshops****

*Students are required to apply for the visa through CIC

**French Study only available at the Montreal Campus.

*** Choose your preferred schedule from either the Standard Program or Intensive Program.
**** Job Ready Workshops: Over the 12-week period, students will attend 9 sessions dedicated to gaining essential job readiness skills. These workshops cover resume and cover letter creation, interview preparation, navigating the application process, and implementing effective job search strategies in Canada.

  • Textbooks will be charged separately at the school. Costs depend on the level and are subject to change without notice.
  • UMC doesn’t guarantee job placement due to factors such as individual skills and market conditions

Requirements:

  • Participants must be aged 18 to 35
  • The country or territory of citizenship must have a Youth Mobility Agreement (YMA) with Canada Check eligibility here
  • Minimum CAD $2,500 to cover initial expenses in Canada
  • Round-trip ticket or proof of sufficient funds for departure
  • Mandatory participation in a minimum 12-week ESL study program
